HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR CANDLES
- Follow any special instructions that came with your candle.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended or fall asleep with one burning.
- Keep out of the reach of children and pets
- Never move a candle while burning. Place candles on heat resistant surfaces.
- Keep candles away from other flamable objects.
- Never burn a candle where it may fall on to a person, on or in a scratched, chipped or damaged holder.
- Keep wick trimmed to about 1/4 inch to avoid excessive flame height. Make sure all trimmings, used matches and other debris are free of the candle.
- Stop use of candle when there is 1/2 inch or less of candle remaining.
- Never use water to extinguish a candle.
- When the lights go out, use a candle to light the area. Do not move around with it. You could bump into something and start a fire.
BURNING TIPS
- Keep wick trimmed. If flame becomes too large or begins to flicker, your candle has probably been burning too long. Extinguish it, trim the wick when cool and relight. Our soy candles, when burned properly, do not flicker; the flame should be almost stationary.
- Keep candles out of drafty areas.
- Burn container candles long enough to have a melt pool all the way to the edges for maximum candle life and to prevent "tunneling".
- Make sure the wick stays centered.
CANDLE STORAGE
- Store candles in a cool place. For best results do not let temperatures exceed 90 degrees fahrenheit.
- Do not expose candles to direct sunlight for long periods of time. This may cause discoloration.
ELECTRIC CANDLE WARMERS
- Still follow the same safety practices as you would with a burning candle.
- Read and follow the manufacturers instructions.
- Instead of a flame you now have an electrical heating element which is an additional hazard.
- Never leave unattended. There is a possibility that the heating element may fail or overheat causing a fire hazard.
- Make sure the cord is in good condition, does not touch liquids, is out of the way from being stepped on or being tripped over. It could cause an electrical shock or dangerous wax spill.
- The candle warmer is hot and handle with safety precautions.
